So this is that rare mouse that photographed really well both times I tried to document it; in fact, I think the the pictures really show the piece off[1]
The focal bead is an ivory curliQ with some sort of Double Helix or similar high-silver-bearing glass pulled into a stringer, echoed with assorted browns and ambers, some of them with a lustre finish that nicely plays up that quality of slanting, fall and winter light. Oh, and there's one tigereye:) —can you spot it? Hint: it's 4mm
the brown sarovski crystals I kinda lucked out on: they're genuine (not the Chinese copies) and were being sold at a steep discount by the local rock shop, which was discontinuing their beads. Lucky, like my photography—it's so seldom things come together this easily, so I celebrate those rare occasions.
[1]IOW, the pix look better than the piece, which is the goal of product photography—albeit not one I manage very often. This is a handsome enough piece, don't get me wrong, but the photography—provided you click to get the properly sharp versions of the pix—really shines. In my not-so-humble opinion.
