I had been been tasked with making matching earrings for a burial outfit but after not very much thought, concluded it would make more sense for the living daughters to receive earrings to match their mother's necklace. —I had made a series of extra chickadee pendants when my mom died, basically for any of the descendants (or spouses) who wanted one, so I suppose this seemed like a very natural extension of that idea.
earrings featuring vintage abstracts (effetre, thompson enamels, frits, trailing, palladium? leaf); sterling, bali silver, jun 2023. Photography: sony ILCE-7C, sony 90mm macro, f/7.1, ev -0.3, 1/60s, ISO 50, godox flash; cropped and slightly lightened in gimp, 16jul2023.
If you look closely you can see that the base glasses are subtly different: the one on the left is built on opaque red glass, the one on the right on a transparent (possibly pale grey), though its ruby frits echo the red; both have opaque turquoise. Pretty sure these are the beads front and center in the 3rd photo down on the sample strand page.
The design, of course, is basically one repeating unit of the necklace.
