B&W is elegant in silk
a tabby weave braid made long ago

I can't remember which tama I used to make this braid, but it might have been my original, spool shaped (and very heavy) ones—I do recall worrying whether the silk would snap from the weight. As a result this braid is very tight and stiff, as you can see in the picture—I couldn't get it to lie in a smooth coil.

Keiruko no himo. 16 strand tabby weave, D weight silk in black and white, early 90s? Roughly 1/16” x 69” long. Sterling silver soldered ring on one end.

I actually made two of these braids: the second[1] I traded for a bunch of very pretty fimo beads, which I eventually incorporated into this necklace.

You get this zigzag stripey pattern by alternating the colors in pairs.

[1]If I recall correctly: I think I couldn't give up the original, because it took so long to make, but as a bonus they got one without mistakes. Or mebbe I gave them the original & made a copy for myself—it's been 20 or 25 years, after all.
