As I mentioned yesterday, I was simultaneously taking a studio (that is, commercial) photography class while I was working on this commission, so I had access to tools and expertise that I don't, typically.[1]
Unicorns evoke fantasy and magic, so that was the feel I was going for here, with tulle, and little fairy lights.
Because these pix are more about evoking a mood than merely illustrating the product, I felt free to play with colour saturation and other photoshop gimp (i.e. photo editing) tricks, like adjusting the colour saturation, as seen below.
And why yes, there is a 2019 version. I'll be showing that tomorrow:)
[1]I actually took this exact same class, with the same teacher, about 15 or 20 years ago, back in the days of film. Film is enjoying quite the resurgence amongst the younger generation of photographers, but all I can say about that is that I'm so not sorry to never ever have to shoot film again. Photography for me is a pretty much a means to an end, a component along the way to making other art.
