This necklace, which was part of my friend Page's collection until quite recently, was strung many years ago by a mutual friend. Page was enamoured of the way the soft colours of the jasper blended with the nacre of the pearls.

Multi-strand freshwater pearl, sterling silver and crazylace jasper necklace, strung on nylon or silk thread. 6 strands, approximately 18" Designed & executed by Linda Gioiosa of Malachite Dragon.

Given the piece's emphasis on colour and texture (as opposed to the clean design for which Page is so gifted) I never could figure out why this necklace spoke so to her and not me, as its ostensible aesthetics match mine far more closely.

It's just one of those mysteries of appeal that you can never can predict.
