So I found (photos of) this necklace while doing my multi-strand/3-hole research, which I'd completely forgotten.
multistrand tassel necklace. Since it was photographed 25sep2010, it was constructed no later than then. I've done some minor lighting modifications so the tassel part in particular isn't quite so dark.
However, it's very much part of the multistrand tassel series—something that I've been messing with for the better part of a decade. It harkens back to the squid in its tassel construction and anticipates the color scheme, which I reprised, in this cream, gold and purple tassel necklace.
This piece includes a lot of older beads—semi-precious stone such as amethyst, citrine, garnet, and tigereye; vintage gold-lustered swarovski faceted barrels and purple, pink and black czech dogbones; and both copper and sterling metal accents. Lustered seed-beads and fancy dyed bronze pearls act to transition between the transparent glass and stone and opaque metal beads.
Closeup. It's a pretty bead in a pretty necklace, but until I stumbled across the picture I'd completely forgotten it—I have no idea what happened to this piece, or where it is.
All of these pieces form part of my ongoing explorations of tassel necklaces, of course.
