Like the white mouse featured a couple of days ago, I decided on a simple two layer dot process, substituting opaque orange for the white and what I thought was 072 transparent orange for the clear; but it came out red, either because I chose wrong, or over struck the glass. —I was rather disappointed with the transparent, because I think the red is too obvious, and I wanted subtlety, as with the white mouse. On the other hand, it was done, and the bead works on its own terms.

Orange layered dot bead (13x14mm, made 03aug22), glass, beadalon, stainless steel, approx 5-7/8"/15cm; strung & photographed 08aug22. Sony ILCE-7C, sony 90mm macro lens, godox manual flash, f/3.5, ev 0, 1/160s, ISO 50; cropped, scaled, removal of minor specular hotspots
If you look closely you can also see that I forgot to crimp the tails, though I did that before sending it on its way. One tail dangle is a vintage pressed ‘fruit’ bead, and though is a relatively recent purchase, the design of the mold (possibly even the bead itself) could date back to the mid-20th ca.[1]
[1]Well, its style looks that old to me anyway...
