Orange and Blue earrings
in two styles

Someone dear to me recently graduated from college and I made these orange and blue earrings with niobium hooks for her to wear on her walk across the stage to not get her diploma, as grades hadn't even been turned in at that point. (Adding insult to injury from my point of view is that not only did I make earrings I attended the ceremony, which was two days before xmas...)

Two pairs of orange and blue lampwork soda-lime glass earrings with gold filled and niobium findings, Dec 2017. Zuiko macro, olympus E620.

I thought the recipient would prefer the pressed lentils on the right, so she got those; the others went to an aunt who also attended the ceremony. I looked up the college colours, which were a very dark blue and red orange. I kind of was in a hurry and failed to strike the orange as much as I should have; but I felt this event was important enough to use an old rod of cobalt blue and petroleum green I made in Loren Stump's class about 20 years ago. Ye good ghods, that stupid rod followed me from Detroit, and has been in my stash for something like two decades...well, of course now there's a lot more variety, but I was so glad to have a real, legitimate reason to use this stuff up.[1]

[1]The recipient almost immediately lost one, so even though I still have about half the rod left, I expect it will all go away soon. Like, after these single digit temps break.
