I made this necklace to match a pair of copper colored earrings with purple pearl dangles for which my customer purchased two sizes of magenta-fuchsia fwp. I basically just substituted fuchsia and purple for the black in the color scheme for this necklace, as well as trying to capture its delicacy. I'm not crazy about such obviously faux-colored pearls, but was really pretty happy with the way the piece turned out, and, more importantly, so's my customer.
4 strand necklace, 2007. Beadalon, approximately 20”? Freshwater pearls, (dyed), garnet, amethyst, glass, silver, copper.
The clasp is one of a batch of copper s-hooks, made of square stock that was beaded (with a beading tool to make the texture, I mean) and twisted that I bought years ago at the GLW for some ungodly low price, which I absolutely love, to the point of thinking I really must learn to make them myself. Sometimes, simplest really is best.
