I was in Japan for most of peony season this year, but I got a few pictures on my return. Here are two that I picked out because I like the bright central light.

Both rely on my lensbaby sweet35 for the soft point focus.
Because I've never figured out how to to engage the magnification for manual focus when using an entirely manual lens, I don't get perfect focus, except by accident. This is just one example of me failing to go that last 10% to nail my goals, which is why I'm strictly an amateur and don't consider myself serious. Nevertheless, despite their imperfections I like these pictures, especially the latter.
And right now, I'm all about finding joy wherever I can.
