It's obvious that I'll never be much of a poet. But I do love the translucent sheen on many freshly opened flower petals, and if nothing else, this picture shows I'm ever so slowly getting the hang of adjusting for bright, mid-day light (helped, of course, by the fact that it's still spring, and don't live in a desert—which to be sure has its own beauties...)

This was shot on Earhart Road, probably a mile or two south of five mile road (at an intersection, anyway—I just don't remember which one...) on Tuesday 23 May, 1/312th sec, f4.0, 0.0ev at about 4:30.
