This braid's color shifts were completely unsuccessful, and you can see I shifted from one pattern to another. You can also see it didn't help either. Many of the yarns in the left tassel are samples of wool from a yard sale; the previous owner had evidently put aside one strand, approximately a yard (or meter) long of each color s/he had of crewel. Several of the braids were made with these odds and ends of yarn, most of which are short and unsuitable for traditional knitting or crochet—no doubt the reason my garage saling friend was able to pick up a large under the bed box for such a good price.
However, I like the way the color works in the tassels, and the braid is good enough for tying up rod wraps.
