Halloween Inktober
masquerading as a bookmark

After drawing another spiderweb on a card, I decided to see if I couldn't do a better job (the answer is no, I still haven't really internalized how the web is built on its guy-lines); I also added some other traditional (USA) Halloween iconography: pumpkins, cats, bats—all of which were somewhat more successful.

Halloween inktober—12 and .005 microns on paper scrap. Photographed 27oct25 with a sony A7c, 90mm macro lens, f/2.8, +0.3 ev, 1/100s, ISO 800; scaled to 4000 pixels. [1]

The wizard wandered by and admired the “bookmark” that I had to this point simply considered a little collaging component/inktober exercise so much I asked if he wanted it, which he did, which pleased me very much, he's really difficult to give gifts to. And it was indeed exactly the right size and shape, even if I didn't plan it that way. I love it when people see my work in utterly different contexts that never would've occurred to me:)

So, Happy Halloween:)

[1]Apologies for slightly cropping off the bottom, but if I waited to re-photograph it, it could easily be another 2 or 3 years before I got around posting it, so this is definitely a case, good enough!
