This ornament is basically made with odds and ends, randomly trailed (dotted) with a ruby stringer, because I wanted to see what happened if I tried blowing out some dots. The efficient way to get this freeform effect, of course, is to roll the glass in frit, but I didn't think of that till later.
Particularly in the case of boro colors, the metals that create the colors tend to make the glass stiffer, and more difficult to blow out evenly. So blorping on a bunch of random colors in uneven patterns can make for soft spots that blow out too much, ruining the shape (this is because I'm so bad at blowing glass.)
Well, I've lost the little paper that documents the size, but it's probably about 34mm. December, 2005, borosilicate, blown.
So I was reasonably pleased at how round this ornament came out, and I think it's fairly attractive in an organic way. (Enough for me to try this approach again, at any rate.)
