I made this dragon for F2 the Elder, about the same time I was making ornaments; it was part of the suite of handmade gifts for christmas 2005.

It measures perhaps 4” (100mm) long, and its wings aren't really large enough, and its legs are too big, but I do like the color. One odd thing about these boro beasties, the lighting actually improves the color. Would that all my photography was so effortless...

As it happens, it's already had a leg break off, and though I was able to reattach it without any problem, this exact sculpture, technically, no longer exists.

Glass has the very contradictory quality of being both fleeting and durable to the point that beautiful pieces survive from the times of the romans and beyond.
