She had a limited palette of items not of her choosing, but you can see how she went for paper with repetitive patterns, using the black and white twisted string (which I think really “makes” the design) and custom computer printed notecards, carefully positioned, to bring the overall concept together.

I took advantage of our sofa's contrasting acid green to pop the reds, and carefully saved the wrapping, especially the string, for future use in mixed media.
