I loved this charming paper, but was incredibly frustrated trying to come up with decorations for it: I finally concluded that I needed about three shades of lime ribbon to make it work. At any rate, I finally gave up really trying to make it look good, and instead had the younger member of our f2 generation contribute.
In this case, I used a tissue paper flower f2 the younger had made in school. It has a lime layer, as well as other co-ordinating greens; and the velvet mustard ribbon (again highlighted with a second, narrower ribbon) and red flocked bow adds to the overall matte texture.
In this case F2tY suggested (or at least charmingly agreed) with my opinion that a red plastic poinsetta would be just the thing. At any rate, I was forced to rethink my paper purchasing criteria after discovering how well the gold and white paper I didn't like worked out, as opposed to this stuff, which I adored but couldn't decorate well. Foo. Well, better to learn before buying all that paper—and I've finally worked down my stores enough to justify such a purchase...
