Sometimes even I haven't a lot to say. This is one occasion. This closeup shot, even with some gimping, is unfortunately still a bit overexposed, but I think the bug is cool, so I saved the image.

May blooming bearded iris

And here is a group shot of the traditional purple bearded iris. Despite things eating their corms, or rhizomes, or whatever, they seem to be doing fairly well, and I figure this fall I can divide them and start moving them out of the holding bed where I've had them for the last three years.
