I love lilacs, and though this shrub actually is planted in my next door neighbor's garden, some of its flowers almost hang out in mine. I really enjoyed trying to capture the gold-green translucent quality of sun shining thru leaves, and the glitter of it on raindrops.

And there's that heavenly scent, too. I think May must be my favorite month.
