Roses in Autumn
Pink, bronze, olive...

This photography session started out as an effort to paint, or at least sketch, these fancy tea roses; but the drawing wasn't going very well, so I took some reference pictures to try again later, and before long I switched from drawing the flowers to photographing them. The lensbaby's point focus coupled with aggressive bokeh makes for nicely romantic shots.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day, with the sun shining through the leaves of the distant trees.

The beautiful gold contrast in the background of this shot comes from the yellowing leaves of the redbuds in the backyard.
