Some friday fuglies, like the mouth beads I recently posted (on a Tuesday no less) are rather cute, or cool, and just need a little different perspective to appreciate. But some are just plain fugly failures.

This bead is probably about 28–30mm at its largest dimension

Take this demo bead. Aside from the wretched color combination (yellowish green glass is too close to being purple's complement, especially given that the standard manganese purple is already on the brown side, and now it's even duller) the scum and the bubbles, some how or other a rod of bullseye obviously sneaked its way into the effetre; either the clear or the green.

That is why there are all those curving cracks, tracking the stress between the colorless base glass and the melted in green dots on the outer bead.

Well, it's just a demo bead.

Good thing the guild gave it back to me, rather than putting it in the raffle!
