qajaqs on a beach
Here are some colourful kayaks on Government Island Beach.
(Qajaq is the Greenland spelling of their traditional boat—considered a form of canoe, at least by some people;) —The bright hues are not only prized for their cheerful aspect, but also, frankly, so they're easy to spot on the water—by other kayakers, large powerboats, and—in case of emergencies—the coast guard.
They make me think of beads, actually;)
